Starring: Ranbir Kapoor, Pallavi Sharda, Rishi Kapoor
Besharam Review: The movie disappoints. Considering Ranbir Kapoor’s recent movies, this one was much anticipated. But, Besharam turned out to be a complete let down. The first half is watchable, it has some content. But, the scenes pictured post interval are just unbearable. The climax is totally bizarre, expressed in the lamest way. The action scenes are unconditionally unreal. The story is unconventional as most of the Bollywood flicks in recent times. There are some funny sequences in the first half which save the movie from being a complete tiresome and humdrum.
In spite of having big names in the list of actors, Besharam fails to create an impression. The characters of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor are overplayed which didn’t at all seem to be pleasant. Debutant actress, Pallavi Sharda, who played the lead role opposite Ranbir Kapoor, gave a mediocre acting performance but she is thoroughly energetic as a dancer. All the acts featuring her are absolutely stupendous. Ranbir Kapoor, once again, is eloquent and impassioned with his acting, but couldn’t develop the required amount of interest among the viewers. Amitosh Nagpal in a supporting role is quite appreciable. Javed Jaffrey plays the bad guy, a funny bad guy who manages to pull out a moderate performance.
The music is below average. The songs could’ve been a lot more enthralling and pleasurable. There have been songs put within every 30 minutes of the total run time, which seems unnecessary. Taking everything into consideration, Besharam is an over dramatized exhibition of an ordinary romantic comedy.
